Buying or upgrading a PC?

We don't like the the large corporations who sell PC's. The simple fact is when you buy a new, ready-to-go PC it always comes with a ton of software that you don't actually need or doesn't work or makes you buy after a 30 day trial you knew nothing about suddenly run's out.

People are scared stiff of viruses so it's pretty sneaky to bundle an anti virus package on the machine that then forces you to pay for it 30 days later. you just spent hundreds of the PC and just weeks after you're being asked to cough up even more money for something on the PC you just bought. Sound familiar?

Forget the ready-to-go nonsense and choose a better path!

There are some amazing deals for new PC's or upgrades at the moment and the best ones, in our opinion, are the ones where they don't come with anything installed so you can instantly set up the PC for the very best optimization.

We don't sell PC's and you can't buy them from us but if you choose this path this is what we can do for you:

• Install your version of windows and obtain all the updates
• Install a free virus checker that won't ask you for money for subscriptions and is better than the leading names!
• Install software that will pretty much eliminate spyware from ever getting on your PC
• Install your printer, scanner, camera etc
• Set up your broadband
• Transfer the files from your old PC onto your new PC.

If you have broadband we can do it from your home. If you're on dialup it is better to set it up at our office where we have a fast connection for the updates and downloads. The price is £40 for the 2 hours it usually takes to set up.

Don't I need all the software that comes with it like XP home and MS Office?

You will need to buy XP home but we're only talking about £50-£70. You don't need MS office because you can download other software for free that will open and save doc files etc.

They great thing about not selling PC parts or software is we can tell you all the things shops and large businesses don't want you to hear. You'll be very surprised what you can have on your PC for no cost!

Be wary of places that say it comes with word processing because in our experience this means MS works which is next to useless!
